Founded in 2018, Aleph Commodities is an Impact-Driven investment company with a focus on Energy Security at a critical time for the Energy Transition.
We invest in the production, storage and transformation of commodities, combining the expertise and discipline acquired at leading global financial institutions, with the agility and value focus of a private investment boutique.
Our trading capabilities ensure the integrity and resilience of the supply chain across our investment portfolio. We apply the highest standards of execution, combining local knowledge and understanding, whilst upholding international standards in investing, trading, supply chain management, logistics, systems, credit and compliance.
We are based in London, with a focus on the production and late-stage development of assets across the Mediterranean and North Atlantic.

Leadership

Alex is a Partner and Co-founder of Aleph Commodities. His expertise lies in commodities, infrastructure and asset management. Prior to Aleph, Alex was a founding partner at Omikron Partners and Liberty Street Partners, redeveloping distressed real estate and infrastructure projects. Alex is advisory board member at Taurus Investment Holdings, a private equity real estate firm based in Boston. Previously, he was Portfolio Manager at Tiverton Trading – a global macro and commodities hedge fund. Alex holds a BA and MA from University College, London.

Anton oversees trading and research at Aleph Commodities. Prior to aleph, he was Global Head of Commodities Trading at VTB capital and Head of EM Derivatives and Flow Credit Trading at Deutsche Bank (London). He holds an Msc in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Atanas is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Aleph Commodities. Prior to Aleph, he was Global Head of Commodities at VTB Capital, where he built one of the largest commodity financing and trading bank businesses in Europe. Atanas started his career in Global Markets at Deutsche Bank, later joining Goldman Sachs as Managing Director for Russia, Ukraine, and the CIS region. Atanas is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Grinnell College, Iowa.

Evan is the CFO of Aleph Commodities. He brings over 25 years of experience in credit, commodities and derivative structuring. He was a Managing Director and ran structuring and sales teams at Macquarie, Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. Evan holds a Bsc (Hons) from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a fellow of the faculty of actuaries.

Deepak oversees Structuring at Aleph Commodities. He brings 25 years of global experience in corporate, project and structured finance transactions, as well as advisory experience across commodities and hydrocarbon value chain – including regulated and unregulated energy infrastructure. He was formerly with VTB Commodities, Bank of Americal Merril Lynch and the Royal Bank of Scotland. He is a graduate of Economics from Delhi University, and holds an MBA from Mumbai University as well as an Msc Finance from Strathclyde University.

Jason is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Aleph Commodities. Bringing 20 years experience in commodities trading and investments, Jason was formerly a Partner at Engelhart Commodity Trading Partners (formerly BTG Pactual Commodities). Prior, he held roles in structuring, trading and origination at Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Macquarie, UBS. Jason is a graduate of Duke University.

Richard’s experience lies in trade finance, investment banking and renewable energy. Previously, he served as Co-General Manager of Dream Kenya, a distributed renewable energy firm focused on East Africa, based in London. Prior he worked as an investment banker with the Standard Bank Group in both the structured trade and commodity finance and diversified leverage and lending team, across Oil & Gas and Agriculture. Richard is a graduate of the University of Sydney and is completing his MBA at Warwick University.
